Digital Literacy Infographic
The pandemic exposed long standing educational equity gaps and digital access is one of the most unknown and detrimental. Digital access is defined as the ability to fully participate electronically, in society (Iowa State University, 2022). In US society there is a digital divide (NEA,2020). Digital divide is the gap between those with affordable access, skills, and support to effectively engage with technology and digital resources and those who do not (Tesfaye & Scorse, 2022). This infographic was proposed to cover the major issue of digital divide, the effort towards digital equity and the necessary actions of digital inclusion (DOE Tech, 2022) and was intended as a solution to address the digital divide. The purpose of the infographic is to create knowledge of the topic of digital access and by extension, its affect on education. The goal would be to get more people in the community to discuss the issue, and have people in positions of power in education and in local communities be able to bridge the gap. The intended solution of the infographic is digital inclusion.
